Research Projects
You'll find my research projects in various states of completion. These are my family stories which include traditional genealogy research, items from my person research files, and reports that include DNA results.
Ireland to St. Louis to Richmond
James Morrissey was an Irish immigrant from Abbeyleix who likely fled the country, not because of famine, but political unrest. His story didn't end in a Queen's County Gaol.
County Armagh to DC
Over about a decade the entire Keenan Family moved from the area of Killeavy Lower Parish in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, to Washington, DC. One document written in the same ink, likely at the same time provides gives birthdates with remarkable accuracy when correlated with baptism records.
Richmond, Virginia 1909
Marie Louise Stumpf was assaulted and robbed before sunrise on a cold January Sunday while walking to confession before mass. He alleged assailant was executed in the Richmond City Jail only 36 days later. COMING SOON.
Wald-michelbach to Richmond
Any genealogist knows that most people didn't immigrate alone. Most came with their families and communities. 8 of the 9 sons of John Adam Stumpf and his wife Maria Margaretha Knapp left Hesse, Germany and found a new life in Richmond as brewers, hoteliers, bartenders, and salesmen.
Challenges of the Pioneers
Benjamin Fisher and his family were one of several families from Dlouha Trebova, Kingdom of Bohemia (now Czechia) who immigrated together. He told their stories to a Czech language magazine. COMING SOON.
